Pride-Hope-Love Poster Contest

What Does Pride-Hope-Love Mean to Your Family?

This past spring, Connecticut’s Kid Governor Ella partnered with the Department of Children and Families to hold a poster contest to fulfill the second point of her platform: to raise awareness of the need for adoptions of LGBTQ youth. Fifth graders across Connecticut submitted posters showing what Pride-Hope-Love means to their families for CT Family Day.

Thomas Stout, a former fifth grader from CREC Ana Grace Academy of the Arts Elementary Magnet School was selected as the contest winner. Thomas and 12 finalists were recognized at a private reception on September 25, 2019.

CT Family Day has been a statewide tradition since 1997. Now in its 22nd year, CT Family Day is a collaboration across state agencies and community organizations that honors and celebrates CT Families. The 2019 CT Family Day and Poster Contest are organized by the Department of Children and Families and the Connecticut Democracy Center in joint collaboration with the Office of Senator Logan.
