Inauguration Day 2020 Is Almost Here!

Inauguration Day 2020 is almost here! The Inauguration Ceremony and press conference with the six final candidates will be held on Friday, January 17, 2020 at 10am. The livestream of the event can be watched on our YouTube Channel. Inauguration Day 2020 will celebrate the swearing in of 2020 Connecticut’s Kid Governor Myra Stanfield and recognize the final candidates from the 2019 Statewide Election.


CTKG Ella Releases Her Guide to Starting a Pride-Hope-Love Club

As her 2019 term comes to a close, Connecticut’s Kid Governor Ella Briggs has released her Guide to Starting a Pride-Hope-Love Club in  Your Elementary School.

This resources is a guide for students and their teachers or mentors on how to create a Pride-Hope-Love Club that meets the needs for their schools. These clubs are meant to help students feel PRIDE in who they are.

2020 CTKG-elect Myra Meets Constituents and 2017 CTKG Jessica

On December 12, 2019, CTKG-elect Myra Stanfield attended Celebrate Connecticut’s Old State House in Hartford. Her first public event, CTKG Myra met with constituents, Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, and other special guests. One of the special guests in attendance was 2017 CTKG Jessica Brocksom. Jessica was also elected on a platform of helping animals (Helping Animals, Those Without a Voice). The two Kid Governors were able to speak about what it means to be Connecticut’s Kid Governor and what Myra can expect in 2020.


Connecticut’s Kid Governor® is a national award-winning civics program created by The Connecticut Democracy Center at Connecticut’s Old State House. The program is presented with major funding and partnership support from CT Humanities and the Gawlicki Family Foundation, and in partnership with the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) and the Connecticut Council for the Social Studies.
