Spreading Kindness with CTKG Reese

Cards of Kindness Delivered to Nursing Homes Across Connecticut

Last week, CTKG Reese kicked off her Be Positive: Pandemic Perseverance platform and invited Connecticut’s 5th grade students to join her in sending Valentine’s Day cards to their local nursing homes. Students were encouraged to be creative and share messages of positivity in the form of handmade cards or decorations.

CTKG Reese and her school, Oshana Elementary School in Southington, delivered over 200 cards to The Summit nursing home in Southington. Mrs. Long’s class in Meriden, Mr. Vincent’s class in Cornwall, and Mrs. Heaton’s class in West Hartford shared their classes’ creations with us before sending them to their local nursing homes. Oregon’s Kid Governor Taneesh also supported CTKG Reese by creating handmade cards to deliver to his local nursing home.

With Valentine’s Day over, students can still support CTKG Reese’s first platform point. Your class can send letters or greeting cards to your local nursing home year round! You can find sample messages and care package ideas HERE.
