Watch Kid Governor Myra’s Virtual Pet Adoption Meet & Greet from Saturday, August 29th.
Kid Governor Myra worked with her friends at The Connecticut Democracy Center at Connecticut’s Old State House, NBC Telemundo Connecticut, and the Connecticut Humane Society to bring you a family-friendly pet adoption event from the comfort of your home. The event showcased animals available for adoption from the Connecticut Humane Society, Connecticut Cat Connection, Dog Star Rescue, Friends of the New Haven Animal Shelter, and Pack Leaders Rescue of Connecticut. Myra also showed her educational videos about the importance of helping companion animals in need.
Kid Governor Myra was elected last November by fifth graders across Connecticut on her Standing Up for Animals in Need platform. Holding a statewide adoption event is part of her three-point plan and in light of the pandemic, she decided to hold a virtual adoption event! You can learn more about Myra and her platform HERE.
