The Connecticut Democracy Center is excited to provide FREE Voting Kits to the first 250 classes that register for Connecticut’s Kid Governor® 2020-21!
This year’s Voting Kits minimize shared surfaces in order to provide a safe voting experience for students. Each Kit includes an “I Voted” sticker for each student, a desktop Connecticut flag for the teacher’s desk or virtual learning screen/background, a copy of D is for Democracy by Elissa Grodin, and a Certificate of Participation. The Voting Kits will arrive at schools in time to coincide with the Statewide Election.
We hope that these items get you and your class in the spirit of the Statewide Election! If your class is in-person and it is safe to do so, consider making your own election decorations, signs for your school, and posters for your voting area. You can download our Create Your Own Polling Place Bonus Lesson for ideas.
Be sure to send us photos of your classroom and your students voting for the #CTKGvotes2020 Photo Contest. Send your best photos to Samantha.Gorski@KidGovernor.org and use #CTKGvotes2020 on social media. Your photo could be our social media cover photo leading up to the announcement of the 2021 Connecticut’s Kid Governor.
