Teach It: The History of Voting Rights in Connecticut

A fifth grader at Rotella Interdistrict Magnet School casts a vote in the 2019 Statewide Election.

During Lesson 3 of the Connecticut’s Kid Governor® program, fifth graders learn about the history of voting rights in Connecticut through an interactive activity. Students are encourage to rediscover this activity in the lesson plan below and share it with their families.

Students can then dive deeper into the history of voting rights by exploring the resources on the TeachIt website from Connecticut Humanities.
